Instead of being just Santa this year, you can also be an elf! This is a great opportunity to build your woodworking skills while creating unique stocking stuffers for the kids.
In this session, you will make a fast wooden race car and a challenging chessboard puzzle. Both of these are made of contrasting hardwoods and finished with a child safe finish. While making these toys, you will familiarize yourself with essential woodworking tools like: bandsaw, drill press, miter saw and router. You will also learn some finishing techniques.
The race car is fun to build and makes a perfect stocking stuffer for any child. The chessboard puzzle, inspired by the famous "Blokus" game, is the most challenging project for this workshop and enables you to create a unique solution of your own. The key is not to forget what the solution is, hence the secret compartment with the puzzle solution.
All tools and materials will be provided.
All skill levels are welcome, but this class will move a pace comfortable for a beginner making their first toys.
