Of all the woodworking projects one can do, building a chess board is one that brings great satisfaction. You may think that it involves a tedious process of cutting and gluing together 64 small squares of wood, but that couldn't be further from the truth. This is a project that requires basic woodworking skills and good planning. The board you will be making has a regulatory size surface that sits over a well crafted storage base.

Over two days, you will complete this fine piece with premium material. Every step will be done under the guidance ofa n experienced trainer and you will get the satisfaction of making your very own chess board. While the surface is composed of two species of hardwood, solid maple and walnut, the storage base is constructed as a fingerbox assembly featuring contrasting joints at the corners.

All tools and materials will be provided.

All skills levels are welcome, but this class will move at a pace comfortable for a beginner woodworker.
