Join The Urban Botanist in building and designing your own unique wooden slab moss frame. Spend the evening building your wooden frame and selecting a wooden slab cross section to create a "river" style effect. We will then learn more about the magical world of moss! A variety of preserved species will be provided for you to design your own custom look, as well as preserved foliage to add as you wish. The moss provided during this session to create you moss frame art is entirely preserved, meaning it will never die, decay, mold or fade! Never worry about watering it or about how much sunlight it receives. Perfect for the low maintenance gardener!

You will have the choice of maple, cherry, ash or walnut for your slab, and you can use the same species or contrasting pieces for the frame. Students will be taught how to finish the slabs using Rubio Monocoat to protect and bring out the grain and beauty of the wood. Pieces are customizable in size up to 2' x 4'.

In this class you will use drill/drivers, sanders, miter saw and various hand tools.

Students are welcome to work with a partner.

All tools and materials will be provided.

Registration is limited. In order to avoid disapointment please register early.

Beverages are provided for most workshops. Some longer sessions may include a light lunch. This will be included in the workshop description   If you have any special dietary restrictions please leave details in the "Notes" section of Checkout.

Students must be 16 years old or older to attend any workshop or class.

Prices are subject to HST.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

As of September 22nd, 2021 - we will require proof of vaccination to participate in one of our courses.

Students will need to present the vaccination receipt or documentation required in your province - (displayed on a mobile device or printed on paper), along with valid Government-Issued Identification matching that on the Immunization Record
