The Seneca Woodworking 3” Space Square (SWSQ3B) is the first in a series of tools that raise the bar on what a precision woodworking square can be! Designed using principles similar to those used in aerospace engineering, this square is lightweight but strong, perfect for carrying in a pocket, apron or tool belt and capable of jobs small and large. CNC machined in the USA from aircraft grade aluminum and hard anodized, this square is more durable than standard anodized squares and will last a lifetime! The matching wall mount bracket is great for keeping the Space Square ready for use on your shop wall.
The basic elements of many traditional woodworking tools have remained unchanged for years. Seneca started by questioning how they could improve basic concepts that have worked for centuries. They decided to approach designing this square by looking at the future. What better way to get inspiration than by looking at great achievements and amazing feats of engineering in aviation and space exploration. Seneca decided that they could make a high tech square, by using high tech computer CAD simulation...similar to the techniques used to design spacecraft... to eliminate weight and extra material while still creating a strong and precise tool. The result is a square that is futuristic, both in engineering and design philosophy. It feels great in your hand and won't weigh you down in a pocket, toolbelt or work apron!
Henry Ford once said "you can have any color you want as long as it's black". The Aluminum Space Squares come in black hard-coat type III anodizing. This is done because they try not to value form over function. Hard-coat anodize doesn't come in bright colors, only black and a natural grey color. Some manufacturers by default anodize their products bright colors like red, blue, or green. That's great for aesthetics, but the end result is a product that's less durable than a hard-coat anodized product. Seneca believes in making hard-coat anodizing...and QUALITY, their "standard!"

This material is a game-changer in the world laser engraving! The quality of the plywood is exceptional, with a perfectly smooth, perfectly flat surface (no surprise here) that makes it a joy to work with. The finish feels a little plastic, but I understand it’s an acrylic coating over the maple fibre, which I love. Even laser-fog burn marks wipe off with a damp cloth — no masking needed. The maple grain is pronounced and it cuts cleanly and sands beautifully. 100% will purchase again.
These work well with my Festool 125 RO in the fine mode as they leave no sanding marks compared to non festool discs.
Very satisfied....the oak grain was beautiful...milling was A1 and glued together with no problems....will buy from here again
