Despite the name, it’s not really orange…more of a golden to bright yellow. Over time the wood darkens to a medium brown. Osage Orange is a difficult wood to work with because it is extremely hard and dense. It turns very well and has no issues with gluing or finishing.
Osage Orange is a gnarly tree that often has a crooked trunk that makes it almost impossible to use as long clear lumber. That being said, the wood is very stable and bends without breaking which explains its use by bowyers.
Our dimensional stock usually originates from Argentina and often has longer and clearer sections.
I’ve ordered rough cut from KJP before but this was my first time ordering Osage Orange. I was extremely impressed with the selection I got in the pack. Always top notch selections and I will keep ordering!!
Excellent, easy to order and delivered on time. This plywood engraves and cuts very nice. I will be purchasing from KJP again in the near future.
Great purchase, wood smells and looks amazing. Wood purchase again in the future.
Having used typical shop vacs from both Shopvac and Ridgid I could not believe the difference in performance, efficiency, noise level, features and dust extraction capability of the Festool CT MIDI I. After attaching the MIDI to my Milwaukee track saw, I couldn’t see any dust anywhere which was quite a departure from what I have been accustomed to. Yes, the Festool is pricey however if you value your lungs and you insist on highest level of dust extraction capability, then it is worth every single penny spent to buy one.
