Maple sapwood usually ranges from white to creamy off-white with a fine, even textured grain. There are many types of figure often seen including curl, bird’s eye and quilted grain patterns.
Maple works well with both machines and hand tools. However, it is quite unforgiving when planing against the grain and is prone to burning if your saw blades or router bits are dull.
It doesn’t get any more Canadian than this! With so many varieties of figure and dependable creamy color, this wood is a favourite for sure. The hardest of the maples and the tree that gives the sap to make tasty maple syrup.

Working with Thin Lumber
4" and wider thins are resawn from a board thick enough to produce 2 pieces and then planed down to a finished thickness of 1/4". This milling process releases tensions in the board and may well induce slight cupping and/or bowing in the finished piece. These movements are normal and not considered "defects". They will not be grounds for a return or refund.

It is high quality. Very high.
The team at KJP supplied beautiful, square, flat and clear maple boards to me. Everything was at proper dimensions, the service was quick, and the material was well packaged. The price was hard to beat also! I’m using this material for a repair in my hardwood flooring before it gets refinished in the new year, and KJP was great to work with. It sure beat the $1400 quote I received from a different local company to mill 40 square feet of clear maple for me! Thank you KJP!
The purchase arrived promptly and required very little additional milling. I have made several purchases from KJP and never been disappointed.
I love the materials I received, it is even better than I was expecting, I only with there was more information on how the material is made, and maybe some laser settings for starting out.
I have already placed two more orders in the past week.
Nice piece of wood, made nice Christmas trees.
KJP shipped them to me, got them 2 days after I ordered them.
Thanks guys!!
Purchased these for turning high end stool legs. Really nice uniform grain for legs.
