Roasted Maple is a great choice for a torrefied guitar neck!
It doesn’t get any more Canadian than this! The hardest of the maples and the tree that gives the sap to make tasty maple syrup. The torrefaction process turns maple’s typical creamy white colour to a beautiful chocolate brown. It smells as good as it looks! Roasted Maple fretboards are a popular option for guitar building - see the options here. This unique wood can be used in just about any application.

Working with Thin Lumber
Working with Thin Lumber
4" and wider thins are resawn from a board thick enough to produce 2 pieces and then planed down to a finished thickness of 1/4". This milling process releases tensions in the board and may well induce slight cupping and/or bowing in the finished piece. These movements are normal and not considered "defects". They will not be grounds for a return or refund.
Staff picked the best pieces . Roasted maple used for laser engraving. A bit softer than some exotic wood but looks wonderful.

Love that wood!
Malik packed my shipment & did a great job. When I ordered I asked for straight-grained boards, and you all delivered. Wonderful stuff — couldn’t have picked better myself. To call the boards 4/4 rough cut understates the quality. They came in at 15/16ths smooth four sides except for one small area there another pass through the planer would have removed the saw marks. That’s just the way I like it! I don’t buy much specialty wood, but I’ll definitely put KJP in the running next time I do! Thanks again!
Having used typical shop vacs from both Shopvac and Ridgid I could not believe the difference in performance, efficiency, noise level, features and dust extraction capability of the Festool CT MIDI I. After attaching the MIDI to my Milwaukee track saw, I couldn’t see any dust anywhere which was quite a departure from what I have been accustomed to. Yes, the Festool is pricey however if you value your lungs and you insist on highest level of dust extraction capability, then it is worth every single penny spent to buy one.
