Premium Zebrawood Turning Blank

It’s rare to find high-quality turning wood with these dimensions! We have a limited quantity of Zebrawood Platter Blanks in the dimensions below. These blanks are 2” thick, with a wide circumference for you to carve something large and exceptional. This blank has already been kiln dried and is ready to be "turned" into your next great project! 

Zebrawood has light brown and dark brown steaks that resemble the coat of a zebra. You’ll find anything from straight quartersawn surfaces to chaotic cathedrals seen in flatsawn material. Also known as Zebrano, this popular wood is commonly used for furniture, tool handles, and even skis. The wood is prone to tearout due to the often interlocking grain but saws well enough. It glues well and takes finish well though a clear pore filler is needed for a smooth finish.

Dimensions may vary +/- 1/4" as we often prefer to lightly skip dress the turning blanks to reveal grain & colour.

Recommended Finish

We recommend using Honey Bee's Natural Wood Cream for a long lasting and food safe finish. Made with only 2 ingredients - pure beeswax and 100% food grade mineral oil - this soft paste is easy to spread and will protect and enhance the natural beauty of your woodturning project.
