Balsa Thin

The lightest and softest of all commercial woods! Great for model airplanes, fishing lures, musical instruments, and more!

These balsa thins sets are resawn from the same piece so the colour and density will match. Sold in a set of 5. 

They will require sanding and are coming directly from the bandsaw. Because Balsa is so light you should not have any problems getting them sanded to your liking. Happy woodworking!

In order to offer more protective packing for shipping - our lengths are often 1/4" less than sizes listed. Need a wider width or longer length? Please email us for a quote. Custom millwork charges will apply.

We will provide you with 5 x 1/4" thick x 3-1/8" wide x 17-3/4" or 35-1/2" long, high quality thin boards! These boards are flat, straight, and ready for sanding.

Working with Thin Lumber

4" and wider thins are resawn from a board thick enough to produce 2 pieces and then planed down to a finished thickness of 1/4". This milling process releases tensions in the board and may well induce slight cupping and/or bowing in the finished piece. These movements are normal and not considered "defects". They will not be grounds for a return or refund.
