Since its first appearance as a OneTIME Tool in 2015 the original 3-1/2" DelVe Square has been one of their most popular tools. Now it has a big brother - the 6" DelVe. All the same great features in a bigger size. From the offset base to the scribing guides and set-up block functions, all the features that woodworkers love about the original have been preserved in the larger version. Since both are milled from aircraft-grade aluminum, you'll hardly notice the weight of either one in your apron.
It's versatility makes the DelVe a trusted companion for layout, assembly and installation. Scales on the blade are laser-engraved to an accuracy of ± 0.004" total accumulated error. Precisely machined scribing guides on 1/8" centres enable you to strike lines parallel to the edge of your stock quickly and accurately. The squareness of the DelVe is held to Woodpeckers stringent standard of ± .0085°.
Easily lay out your project with the DelVe Square's array of references. The base is offset with 3/8" and 1/4" on either side of the blade which is perfect for 3/4" stock. You can easily mark 1/4" from both edges for a mortise or tenon, or flip it around to the 3/8" leg and quickly find dead centre. The DelVe Square's base wraps around your workpiece making it simple to mark both the face and edge at the same time.
These are not just squares. In additon to the 45° and 90° edges, angles are graduated along the hypotenuse in 1° increments on the 6" version and 5° increments on the 3.5". Both squares have additional graduations for octagonal layout at 22.5° and 67.5°.
With a DelVe, you always have your go-to set-up blocks right at your fingetips. The base is 1/4" thick and 3/4" wide and the blade is 1/8" thick. Use whichever side you need for machinery set-up, joinery lay-out or other referencing tasks.
Both models incude a wall-mountable Rack-It to keep your DelVe right in plain sight and ready to go to work.
Like all Woodpeckers products, the DelVe Square is precisely machined and carefully inspected in their Strongsville, Ohio factory (just south of Cleveland).
*Please note DelVe 2020 is now the new DelVe 3.5"*
a very nice piece of wood . Cuts nice with slight tear outs. sands well and finishes very nice. will buy again.
straight and true. First time using Iroko. Outdoor mostly sheltered area. Not Teak but still quite pricey. KJP is a great company to deal with, like a candy store for wood
Not impressed with the shipment I received, the 12x12 was not 12x12, off an 1/8 to a 3/16 on both sides and the peices were very warped and not flat
