Although these boards have been skipped dressed to show colour and grain, they will still require some TLC and additional milling. If you would prefer to have the milling done for you - check out our S4S Red Oak Lumber.

This North American hardwood works well with both hand and power tools. Priced very economically and easily sourced, this is a popular wood species used for just about all interior woodworking applications. If you’re looking to steam bend, you can expect good results with Red Oak. It also glues well and takes finish well though a pore filler may be desired to fill in the coarse grain.

My second order from KJP and I couldn’t be happier with the quality. Arrived quickly and very good quality lumber. As far as ‘rough cut’, it required very little work to dress.
Also bought the domestic cutting board blanks as well. They were also in great shape. There was a small check in one piece of cherry but it was nothing a little glue didn’t fix.
