Roasted Ash Turning Blank

We will provide you with a high quality Roasted Ash turning blank in the dimensions of your choice. Our bowl blanks have already been kiln dried and are ready to be "turned" into your next amazing project! 

We can sometimes accommodate a larger blank than our standard sizes. Please email us for availability and a quote.

Dimensions may vary +/- 1/4" as we often prefer to lightly skip dress the turning blanks to reveal grain & colour. Some blanks may also come with waxed faces and ends.

While White Ash hardwood usually carries similar qualities to White Oak, the “roasting” or torrefaction process draws a natural, chocolate brown colour from within the sap of the wood, altering the colour in our Roasted Ash lumber. One of the most commonly asked questions we get about our roasted species of hardwood is: Does the colour go all the way through? The answer is yes! You can expect the rich, chocolate colour of this piece to outlast cutting, sanding, and any other mechanical changes you choose to make to the wood. Our Roasted Ash has easy workability and a nutty aroma that makes for stunning, long-lasting projects.

We recommend using Honey Bee's Natural Wood Cream for a long lasting and food safe finish. Made with only 2 ingredients - pure beeswax and 100% food grade mineral oil - this soft paste is easy to spread and will protect and enhance the natural beauty of your woodturning project.

Just Great

I have been looking for a supplier of exotic woods and a very happy to find KJP. I bought a large selection of blanks all are very good. The roasted ash blank I havnt had a chance to turn yet but is a very nice dark wood with nice grain. Looking forward to my next order
