FAMAG - Bormax 2.0 Forstner Bits (Imperial)

Series 1622

When it comes to Forstner bits, we choose to stick with a manufacturer that we know well, and where we are sure that any tools bearing their name are made in house (no branded imports that could be of variable quality). FAMAG in Remscheid, Germany, has a long history of making top-quality tools, and has also shown itself to be remarkably innovative. One example is the Bormax line of high-end Forstner bits designed to resist the overheating that can plague other brands. You use Forstner bits wherever you are looking for clean holes without tear-out and high dimensional stability. All the Bormax products we sell are right-hand drill bits.

With the new Bormax 2.0 drilling will be easier and heat build-up less than ever before! The tool life between resharpening is significantly longer and overall you will profit from the considerably longer service life of the new Bormax 2.0! What‘s new?

  • New centring point: the new centring point allows for pinpoint positioning and produces a cutting effect thanks to its twisted tip geometry that in turn reduces the required feed force.
  • New chip breaker flutes on the main cutting edges: the new offset chip breaker flutes reduce effort and speed up drilling.
  • New peripheral cutting edge: the new peripheral cutting edge has cooling fins, which lowers the friction and results in reduced heat development.

This innovative drill bit can be used both freehand and in stationary drilling equipment. It produces absolutely clean and dimensionally correct boreholes.

The best forstner bit

The investment that every woodturner need to do. Drill in end grain like butter without heating like most forstner bit.
