We recommend using Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue for a sturdy and waterproof bond between your cutting board blanks. If you want a mess-free application, we also recommend using the Titebond Glue Brush to make the process a little easier.

We recommend using Honey Bee's Natural Wood Cream for a long lasting and food safe finish. Made with only 2 ingredients - pure beeswax and 100% food grade mineral oil - this soft paste is easy to spread and will protect and enhance the natural beauty of your next creation.

Do you hate trying to pry your cutting board off the countertop, but don’t have a router to form handles on your piece? Our Bumper Feet can help give your cutting board the lift it needs to be easy and comfortable to use.

Colour and Workability

Courtesy of The Wood Database:

Heartwood color can vary, ranging from a pale pinkish orange to a deep brownish red. Most pieces tend to start reddish orange when freshly cut, darkening substantially over time to a reddish/purplish brown. Grain is usually straight, but can sometimes be interlocked. With a coarse, open texture and good natural luster. Has excellent decay resistance, and is rated as durable to very durable.

Overall Padauk is easy to work; tearout may also occur during planing on quartersawn or interlocked grain. Padauk turns, glues, and finishes well.

Ordered some wood for a cutting board

I was pleased with my order. Delivery and packaging was very good. I made an error in my order and ordered some sizes of wood that I won’t use on my next project but will order the correct sizes from you based on my past experience
