Purpleheart 1/16 Veneer

Recently received a few packs of what was advertised as "1/16" thick veneer. Maple and walnut veneer were mostly as advertised and overall good condition.

However, not so with the purpleheart. Not one of the pieces were close to being 1/16". They are a lot thinner, and uneven. This caused changes for my intended scope of work for making traditional wood Sayas ( wood sheath for Japanese kitchen knives).

Next time, I will get the 1/4" thins and slice them up to the proper thickness. More work but at least the pieces will be even.
